Hello Art Blog! It’s been a while since I’ve written on here now; I’ve been very busy. I’ve started the “Moving Image design” course at Cardiff and so far it’s going very well. I’ve been working on lots of small projects at the moment, short animations, some spoken word stuff for a website and working on my own short stories. View my motion design project under the title “WE ARE NOT WHAT YOU SEE” the idea came to me from a badge that I bought in the moving image centre in Melbourne “with eyes lies illusions”.

The project was made by "rotoscopeing" live action film. This was quite a tedious way of animating but I did manage to get my desired effect in the end.

I’m currently discussing work proposals that could be used for television with some friends I hope to collaborate with. If anything comes of these ideas I will be sure to post.

I saw a man at the foot of my bed 2 nights ago, My eyes were wide open from a dream and the character from my dream came with me into my wake, He was sat there at the foot of my bed chanting. I didn’t know what was going on, its impossible to describe the feeling I believe this was some sort of sleep terror or something. His face faded away into the drapes the more i looked at him; you can actually see his face marks where his eyes look like the drapes. THIS WAS VERY REAL AND VERY SPOOKY!

Close to landing on a new angle (style) I’m mixing much of my old cartoon line work with new artsy marking. I’ve stopped irritating myself over trying to get everything perfect and have started just whacking out tons of new ideas. I’d say at the moment my main influences are the underground comic artists of the 80’s. I feel as a 1988 kid I still hold the lantern of 80’s dom. I seem to find myself at home amongst Psychedelic band art and underground 80s comic stuff. I’m painting at the moment also. Whatever’s happening, ITS HAPPENING!!. This is no way some attempt to pigeon hole myself.. but merely finding a voice for myself, I will always experiment with different techniques and marks. I feel my artwork will always have a cartoon like flavour, I feel at home in the surrealism of cartoon like depictions. I’ve also been brushing up on some life drawing but this is more for rendering. I had a vision of back when I was a child at school and The children in my class would gather round me to watch me draw aliens, spaceships and dead teachers. It made me think about my roots and how much I enjoyed the energy in the comedy of my daydreaming. Dreams have been black and white lately. I aim to post the stuff I’ve been working on soon.

The opening in the wall led me straight into a cosm of colours and light, the idea of holding onto any reality that I had known was now a whisper. I realised then that I knew nothing. It opened wider, my only option was to enter, if not I would stay in this endless rhythm of confusion for the rest of my life. There was no sound, nothing. All of matter seemed to curve into itself revealing strange patterns and infinite distance. In one step I let go of everything I knew and became part of this new rhythm. Then blackness, my very body unravelled and separated into countless beams that became stars and galactic disks.
The “I” I once knew was now more of an “it” or an “an”. I just was and I knew that, there were other lights that looked simular to me and they all seemed to be gliding towards a great white divide. With no fear I also began to move towards this great light.

As I floated towards the boundless glow I started to feel whispers all around me, I was piking up on countless languages, at first I could hear English, French, Japanese, Spanish and then new languages, new Alien languages. The closer I became to the light the more I understood, the whispers revealed themselves as languages used by alien colonies. The noises were passive but filled my whole essence with momentum as I drifted towards the divide. The idea of form came to me; if I used the great designs of my planet I could reach the light even faster. I decided to become a great whale, and as I changed form I could see that the other lights also began to change into beings from their planets. Great sea creatures and Forms simular to clouds all moved in cosmic beauty. The closer I became I gained more knowledge and I changed into a greater creature with awesome titanic wings. Finally I reached the Light and my human organs started to orbit back into being, and I was reconstructed as My Human self. My veins started to radiate with colour and my body was now transparent.

In the centre of the great light was a great mushroom that invited me to sit on one of its roots. Countless forms began to sit on the great mushrooms like form many roots. “Greetings traveller, I am the keeper”. The Keeper was colossal, it’s roots countless and head boundless. Although the size was tremendous I felt no fear, The Organism radiated with compassion.

Sculpture from the William Ricketts sanctuary.
It was an incredible place, William Ricketts (1898-1993) was an Australian potter and sculptor of the arts and crafts movement. His incredible works opened the eyes of Australians to the beauty of the land and the real raw nature of "wild life" and its essence. The Sanctuary was a real eye opener to the possibilities of spiritual artwork. In some way he plays a simular role to Alex Grey in his philosophies of humanity.

I hit the road tomorrow armed with Artworks created over the past months.
I will be touring St Kilda selling artwork from a small minibus. Artworks from the Cat and Dog show and recent works will be sold. A psychedelic flavour runs through the works and will be in great keeping with the surrounds. I’m happy with the “MOBILE GALLERY” and it will be an opportunity for the public to see and Buy some of my work. The Money made will fuel more adventures here in the remaining part of my stay.here's hoping for some good weather!.

This was very strange I was reading a comic called "Deep sleeper" and found this in the middle of it. Gave me one of those "ugh!" moments. This has been one of many coincidences latley-somethings up. Iv'e been researching the history of Cyberpunk latley, if we can create new worlds that are almost as realistic as we think this one to be then sureley we need to question our own realities. I was looking at a book the otherday called "the singularity is near" it talks about the evolution of man with machine. Maybe one day there will be no difference.

Born into a Paradox.
Who’s to say that we are now not part of a paradox, a paradox that man created driven by machine-much like “The matrix”. We could soon create a future where we literally create our own reality. It’s paradoxically nothing yet paradoxically everything. Could it be possible to alter consciousness to see outside the walls of “reality”? We should never deny “reality” yet we should always test it.

Saw St Kilder Luna Park today, Met some local artists that spoke to me about the Local culture. I spent the night before last in an "ASHRAM" where I did some meditation that was cool. I'm Getting some ideas together for some art I hope to sell on the streets of Melbourne. The Street Scene is very alive there is Graff art everywhere.

A new focus of mine at the moment is the history in objects, I can't help taking pictures of objects that have been abandoned on the streets, I keep thinking of the stories behind the objects.

So first Day in the big City, I decided to hit up some boxes hahahaha, Nothing amazing but I wanted to get those creative juices flowing. It was an incredible day, Played with a beat band and got to try out some new independant games and saw some local indie cinema.

Arrived yesterday absolutley shatterd and glad to be off the plane after listening to two old swingers flirt with eachother all the way from singapore to melbourne. I was lucky enough to get a window seat from singapore and saw some amazing stuff. Shooting stars, a whale and some amazing cloud formations some looked like weird space bugs and aliens ( I needed sleep hehe).
Made it to my Uncle's House got a few hours sleep and jumped into the Pool. We Drove to Mornington and Frankston and I got to see some cool views of the sea and
also saw an elephant on the side of the road in some strange circus (of all the animals hahaha).
Met a cool guy who owns an eletric bike shop and was more than happy to show me around his shop. I'm getting settled in Mt Eliza with my family and meeting my intresting little cousins.

Iv'e been sorting out camera equipment and everything looks good to go, stay tuned!.

Reopening my "cosm"

I will shortly be travelling to Australia, I hope to take in a whole new Culture that I'm sure will have influence on my artwork. I have not created work for some time now; I believe I am in a state of transgression. I feel I have adopted a new way of thinking towards things. Through the doctrines of Buddhism and also new influences such as "Aldous Huxley" and that of "Alex Grey" I think I have somewhat expanded the mind to an alternate way of thinking, I feel now I really deconstruct objects/beings/entities in a new way. I'd like to experiment with a new form of art. I believe what I have been producing is satisfactory in some senses but I feel I need to start pushing things far further with myself. I hope to document my travels in Oz on here and maybe produce artworks out in the land of the Roo. I have become fascinated with how things work and in general how things work off each other. To find myself as an artist I will need to use completely different methods to what I'm used to. I have felt a great progression in the way I have looked at things throughout the last year. I'm looking forward to "REOPENING MY COSM" (he-he-he!). Things I have leart or am learning a.t.m: cooking,conditioning my head to eat diffrent foods,alternate ways in looking at time, what art really means to humanity, The biggest Thing I'm working on a.t.m is story ideas and concepts for film and art. I'm working on ideas with acquaintances that I have met this past year.

So I hope to be posting again shortly. I will also keep this page up to date on the quest to Oz.

These are some doodles of creative entities, I'm fascinated with the idea of higher existence at the moment, and this is my attempt at creating entities from another dimension. They take no form but we can see some resemblance to life on our planet in the depictions. I aim to render these in the near future. I feel I will be concentrating on similar artworks in the near future.

Iv'e finally started work on the comic "the Hat"...based on a film noir detective trappped in a phsyco anarchic toon town. Iv'e gone for a avant gurade noir style for this one. Stay TOONED!! for more on "the hat". It will mix cartoon anarchy with cool a cool jazzy style.

It's been a Busy couple of weeks, Iv'e been working on the "artinit" boxes for the cf37 art group in pontypridd www.cf37art.net . The "all over the shop" exhibition in pontypridd precinct has now opend and will run from tuesday the 28th of august to saturday the 1st of september. My work is now showing at the cyrcle gallery for a whole month in the muni arts centre, pics soon!.
